I grew up in a small village called Kerai in Bihar. My father bought our first computer in 2004 and all I did was play Road Rash and EA Cricket on it. In 2008, I went to DPS Panipat City for school, where I represented Panipat in the U-14 and U-16 cricket teams. Leather ball, proper matches, the real deal.
I've been writing software professionally for 8+ years now. Backend systems, databases, payments infrastructure, KYC platforms, real-time systems serving millions of users. I was a Google Summer of Code 2016 student with Fedora, contributing to Pagure and pagure-importer. That was my entry into open source.
I think best in a terminal. My editor is Vim, my shell is zsh. I build with Python, Go, TypeScript, Django, PostgreSQL, and whatever else the problem demands. Lately, I've been deep into agentic engineering, building with Claude and Codex.
I captained my college cricket team at IIIT Allahabad and led them to their first ever tournament win at IIIT Gwalior in 2017. Later at Innovaccer, I picked up table tennis, got surprisingly good at it, and also opened the batting in the office tennis-ball cricket league, winning a couple of trophies. These days I'm back in Kerai, living with my parents, enjoying morning walks and chai while working remotely for Virtual Internships.

Built the entire digital account onboarding system from scratch for Saudi Arabia's fastest-growing fintech app (10M+ users in year one). KYC verification, identity checks, and seamless user flows that got people from download to active account in minutes.
Designed and built the authentication and authorization services from the ground up. Token management, session handling, multi-factor auth. The gates that keep the money safe.
Led the Accounts team as Technical Lead. Payments processing, account management, transaction ledgers, reconciliation. The core of a fintech app where precision is non-negotiable.
Built and maintained products on Innovaccer's healthcare data platform. Complex integrations, data pipelines, and systems that actually matter to people's lives.
Contributed to Pagure, Fedora's git forge, during Google Summer of Code 2016. Built pagure-importer to migrate projects across forge platforms. Dozens of patches merged upstream.
Built backend systems for a consumer lending platform. Loan origination, KYC verification, credit scoring integrations. Where I learned that in fintech, getting it wrong costs real money.
Real estate crawlers, sentiment analysis tools, StackOverflow notifiers, and whatever else caught my curiosity on a weekend. Some shipped, some abandoned, all fun.
github.com/vivekanand1101 →Grew up in village Kerai. My father brought home a computer in 2004. I didn't write code on it. I played Road Rash and EA Cricket. A lot of EA Cricket.
Moved to Panipat for school. Represented the district in U-14 and U-16 cricket. Leather ball, proper cricket, proper bruises. Also discovered that computers could do more than just games.
Studied at IIIT Allahabad. Captained the college cricket team. Led the squad to IIIT Gwalior in 2017 and brought back the first ever tournament trophy. Spent the rest of my time on IRC, open-source mailing lists, and writing Python.
Selected for GSoC with Fedora. Contributed to Pagure and built pagure-importer. Wrote patches, argued on IRC, shipped features. My introduction to building software that thousands of people use.
Jumped into the startup world. Backend systems, databases, deployment pipelines. Learning to ship fast and break things (carefully).
Moved into fintech. Built lending and KYC systems. Learned what it means to write code where a bug can cost real money.
Healthcare data platforms at scale. Complex integrations, big data, systems that matter. Also discovered table tennis at the office and got unreasonably good at it. Opened the batting in the office cricket league too, won a couple of trophies.
This was the big one. Built digital account onboarding, authentication, and payments systems from zero for Saudi Arabia's fastest-growing fintech. Led the Accounts team. 10M+ users in the first year. The most intense and rewarding work of my career so far.
Back in Kerai, living with my parents. Morning walks, chai, and shipping code remotely for Virtual Internships. Building with AI agents in my spare time. Life's good.
Whether it's about code, cricket, or just a good conversation, I'd love to hear from you. My inbox is always open.
